Screw the head u channel of the Swift levelling device to the frame at equal intervals. Complete this for the whole frame.

Flip the timber frame over so that the bases point to the floor. Slide the templates to the ground and pin them in position.

Move the frame leaving the templates in place, and drill the large centre holes in the ground.

Insert the base plates into the ground. Position the heads and frame over the large centre holes and drop into place.

Adjust each head to the required height and tighten each nut to secure the frame. Use a spirit level to check, and adjust if necessary.

Why Corner Sheds Need a Stable Base
A corner shed base plays an important role in the long-term stability and performance of any corner garden building. Unlike standard rectangular sheds, corner sheds distribute weight differently due to their angled shape and compact footprint. Pressure is often concentrated around key support points, which means the corners can begin to sink first if the ground underneath is uneven or unsupported. Over time, this can lead to movement across the entire structure.
An unstable base for corner shed installations can also create twisting across the frame. Uneven patios, paving slabs or soft ground can place stress on certain areas of the shed, causing the structure to shift slightly out of alignment. Once this happens, doors may become difficult to open, windows may stop closing properly and gaps can begin to appear around the edges. A strong and level corner shed base helps prevent these issues before they develop.
Moisture is another common problem when sheds are installed on poorly prepared ground. Water pooling underneath the shed can lead to damp conditions, timber deterioration and reduced airflow. Choosing a properly supported shed base for uneven ground helps improve drainage while keeping the shed level and secure. Levelling can often be more difficult in tight garden spaces or awkward corners, which is why adjustable support systems are becoming a popular solution for modern corner shed installations. Choosing The Right Surface for a Corner Shed Base
Choosing the right surface for a corner shed base can make a major difference to the stability, lifespan and overall performance of the shed. Different gardens present different challenges, so understanding which ground types work best is important before installation begins. The Swift Leveller range also comes with a 15 year guarantee.
Concrete is often considered one of the strongest options for a base for corner shed installations because it provides a solid and reliable surface. Paving slabs are also popular and can work very well when they are level and properly supported underneath. Gravel bases help improve drainage and reduce standing water around the shed, making them useful in gardens that regularly experience wet conditions.
Decking areas are another common location for corner sheds, although the surface underneath must be strong enough to support the weight evenly. Uneven gardens can create additional problems, especially where slopes or soft patches cause movement over time. Soft ground may allow certain sections of the shed to sink, which can affect doors, windows and the overall structure.
Adjustable feet help solve many of these issues by allowing the corner shed base to be levelled accurately across different surfaces. They provide flexible support for uneven ground, help improve weight distribution and make installation easier in awkward or tight garden spaces where traditional shed bases can be more difficult to prepare properly.
Common Problems With Corner Shed Bases
A corner shed base needs to deal with more than the weight of the shed itself. Uneven ground, poor drainage and awkward garden spaces can all affect how stable the shed feels over time. Swift Leveller products help create a more secure, level and practical foundation by supporting the shed where it needs it most.
Uneven Paving
Patios and paving slabs can settle at different heights, leaving the shed sitting unevenly. Adjustable supports help level the base without needing to relay the whole surface.
Water Pooling
Water can collect beneath low areas of the shed, leading to damp conditions. Lifting the structure slightly helps improve airflow and reduce trapped moisture.
Sinking Corners
Corner sheds often place extra pressure on key support points. The system helps spread the load more evenly, reducing the risk of corners dropping over time.
Rotting Timber
When timber sits too close to wet ground, it can deteriorate faster. Raising the base helps keep the shed frame away from direct ground contact.
Wobbling Sheds
A shed that is not level can move, flex or feel unstable. Adjustable levelling makes it easier to create a firm, balanced base from the start.
Difficult Access Areas
Corner sheds are often installed in tight spaces where groundwork is harder. Adjustable feet make it easier to fine-tune the base in awkward garden corners.
YOUR QUESTIONS EXPLAINED
What is the best base for a corner shed?
The best base for a corner shed is one that keeps the structure level, supported and raised away from damp ground. A corner shed base with adjustable feet can be especially useful because it helps deal with uneven patios, paving slabs, gravel areas and awkward garden corners.
Can you put a corner shed on uneven ground?
Yes, a corner shed can be installed on uneven ground, but the base needs to be properly levelled first. A shed base for uneven ground helps prevent the shed from twisting, wobbling or sinking at one side over time.
Why do corner sheds need a level base?
Corner sheds need a level base because their shape can place pressure on different support points. If the base is not level, doors and windows may stop closing properly and the frame may begin to move out of alignment.
Can adjustable feet be used for a corner shed base?
Yes, adjustable feet can be used to help create a stable corner shed base. They allow small height adjustments to be made across the base, which is useful for uneven paving, decking, gravel and sloped garden areas.
Will a raised corner shed base help with drainage?
A raised corner shed base can help improve airflow and reduce trapped moisture underneath the shed. This can lower the risk of timber sitting directly on wet ground and may help protect the shed from damp-related issues.
Can I install a corner shed base myself?
Many corner shed base systems can be installed as a DIY project, depending on the ground conditions and the size of the shed. Adjustable systems can make the process easier because they allow the base to be fine-tuned once it is in position.
What happens if a corner shed base is not stable?
If a corner shed base is not stable, the shed may wobble, sink, twist or become difficult to use. Over time, this can affect the doors, windows, frame and overall lifespan of the shed.
